Early Sunday morning a portion of the DiSalle bridge over I-75 was imploded by ODOT in a planned demolition. What surprised many residents who were awakened by the 3:30a blast was the lack of notice they received. ODOT had decided that not telling people was the right thing to do to avoid a crowd gathering on the river or on the shore. The time was also chosen to avoid any traffic on I-75.
