During an interview on the CNN Don Lemon show former newsman Sam Donaldson suggested that President Trump supporters would "follow him to Hell or wherever he's headed". Donaldson doesn't believe Trump supporters care about facts, don't know the facts, and are ignorant about the things he and Lemon were discussing. According to Donaldson it's up to the citizens to make sure that they want Trump impeached and current polls don't show enough support for the Senate to vote for a conviction.
Donaldson retold a story about the late Sen Robert Byrd who admitted that Bill Clinton had committed perjury under oath but that the "people seem to like him", and so he voted against conviction.
