A letter writer to the Toledo Blade suggests moving the fireworks away from downtown to protect the innocents. The innocents in their opinion are dogs, children, and the elderly which the writer believes suffer from the war like noise of loud fireworks. The writer offers the rec center as an alternative apparently not realizing that it is located in a neighborhood setting also, and in Maumee.
