TOLEDO, Ohio - More than 2,000 workers at Mercy Health-St. Vincent Hospital have voted to strike.
WTOL 11 reports 2,200 Registered Nurses and technical support staff voted to issue a ten-day strike notice. UAW Region 28 issued the notice on behalf of the workers.
The workers and Mercy Health have been negotiating a new contract since the end of July 2018. Their contract expired at midnight on Thursday night.
The strike is expected to start Monday, May 6.
