(Columbus, OH) A rare judicial voice speaks out in favor of a controversial ballot issue.
Former Ohio Supreme Court Justice William O'Neill spoke in favor of Issue 1.
O'Neill said that he disagrees with the judges, sheriffs, and prison officials who oppose the proposed constitutional amendment, adding he would not comment further on the issue that could come in front of the current court.
He also blamed the need for the proposed constitutional change on the general assembly wishing that they would "earn their paychecks" by implementing the changes through legislation instead of leaving it to Ohioans to force the change by amending the constitution.
