Toledoans for Safe Water filed a lawsuit with the Ohio Supreme Court last month, challenging the controversial decision made by the Lucas County Board of Elections to prevent the citizen-led initiative from being placed on the November sixth ballot.
The Lake Erie Bill of Rights is a first-in-the-nation Ecosystem Right of Nature initiative that looks to enshrine in the Toledo City Charter that the Lake Erie watershed and ecosystem have legal rights.
