COLUMBUS, Ohio - A statewide Amber alert has been issued for a 9-year-old boy from the Columbus area.
Columbus Police issued the alert for Eli Opembe. They are looking for the child after he was taken by his non-custodial mother. The incident took place in Lewis Center, OH.
Opembe is 9-year-old black male, is 4'10" tall, weight 35 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. The suspect's name is Verona Thomas. She is a 38-year-old black female, stands 5'10' tall and has brown hair and brown eyes.
The vehicle involved is a blue 2010 Nissan Altima with a Connecticut plate number AB68371.
