Aquifer Opposition Now Crosses State Lines

(Bryan, OH) The fight over an aquifer as a suburban source of water-- now crossing state lines. 

Across the line in Indiana, communities also rely on a Williams County water source. So Steuben County Commissioners are the latest government to officially oppose a study by Artesian of Pioneer to use an aquifer for a drinking water supply for suburbs an hour away-- Perrysburg, Sylvania, and others. 

That company's owner is also the Pioneer mayor, so many other Williams County leaders think Mayor Ed Kidston is selling them out to make money. 

Kidston contends there's plenty of water  underground to drill into the aquifer and start pumping 14 million gallons per day to Toledo suburbs. Even his fellow council members called for his resignation this week.
