Wrangler Sales on Pace for Record Year

(Toledo, OH) Jeep Wrangler sales remain on pace for another record year.

Fiat Chrysler reports more than 21,000 Wranglers left dealer lots in July, leading to a 15 percent jump last month in Jeep brand sales. The Wrangler remains the automaker's number two seller behind the Dodge Ram pick-up truck.

For the year, sales of the Toledo-made model are up almost one-third to nearly 155-thousand of the retooled Wrangler. SUV sales overall helped FCA to a six-percent increase in overall auto sales in July, as the market for sedans continues to drop.

The Wrangler could see even bigger gains, with Jeep shipping a version with a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
