(Toledo, OH) Northwest Ohio may soon have its own Polish Hall of Fame.
Northwest Ohio has more Polish people per capita than anywhere else in Ohio, so organizers say it only makes sense to honor that heritage with a hall of fame. Plaques or photos of those hall of famers may one day adorn the walls of a three-million dollar Polish Cultural Center.
The future home of that center is in East Toledo behind the Northwest Ohio Building Trades building along Front Street-- even though the Old Polish Village is located along LaGrange Street in North Toledo.
The first hall of fame class will be inducted later this year-- and right now nominations are being accepted in four categories: faith, family, labor, and culture. A November dinner is being planned to induct new hall-of-fame members.
