Township trustees later today will consider new regulations for daytime use of off-road vehicles-- specific to the size of a property. But there will be an outright ban between the hours of between the hours of 8 p.m. and 10 a.m. throughout Sylvania Township.
Off-road vehicles under the new regulations include snowmobiles, ATV's, minibikes, and go-carts, while agricultural vehicles are exempted.
Violations will mean a 250-dollar ticket for a first offense, 500 bucks for a second violation and a one-thousand-dollar fine after that. The legislation does allow the Sylvania Township police chief to grant a 24-hour exemption in certain cases.
If passed, the new regulations would take effect in 30 days.
