(Perrysburg, OH) Fort Meigs relives "ten centuries of soldiers" this weekend with its annual Muster on the Maumee.
Things might get a bit uncomfortable in those wool military uniforms with highs projected this weekend well into the 90's, but authenticity is an important part of what military re-enactors do. So things may be more steamy, misty and musty than Muster on the Maumee, but that's what soldiers faced back then.
In addition to battle re-enactments, volunteers and artists will offer the evolution of the common soldier with demonstrations ranging from Roman weapons to World War Two firearms.
There will be military camps on display and a Father's Day full of big booms-- from artillery demos to a Viking combat exhibition. A complete schedule of Saturday and Sunday events can be found on the Fort Meigs website.
