(Whitehouse, OH) This 36th annual Whitehouse Cherry Festival gets underway this evening.
Opening ceremonies start at 6 p.m. with a special military night followed by an opening reception from 6:30 to 10 tonight, where the proceeds will benefit Veterans Matter and a future military memorial to be built in Whitehouse.
Events will include a parade Saturday afternoon and fireworks to close the festival that night at 10 p.m., along with professional wrestling, helicopter rides, and a car show. Of course, there will be fresh cherry pies and turnovers for sale and a pie-eating contest.
Other family-friendly activities include horse-drawn carriage rides, live military re-enactments, a kids zone, and more. There is free admission and free parking all weekend.
