Medical Marijuana Won't Be Available on Time

(Columbus, OH) State officials say medical marijuana won't be available for sale in Ohio by the September 8th deadline.

An Ohio  Commerce Department official says several cultivators have suffered inspection delays that make it impossible to have product on the shelves of dispensaries by the date set in the state's 2016 medical marijuana law.

A policy advisor says state officials are working as aggressively as possible to meet the deadline, but patients will be disappointed. So far, Ohio has licensed 25 large and small medical marijuana growers and this week awarded 56 dispensary licenses.

No one can say exactly when medicinal pot sales will begin, other than as soon as possible.
