(Toledo, OH) Father's Day spending is expected to be the second-highest ever.
Dads across Ohio and elsewhere will be pretty pleased on their special day this year. According to a study released by the National Retail Federation, consumers are expected to spend more than $15-billion on Father's Day gifts, an average of 133 dollars per person. That's second only to last year, both good years based on a rise in consumer confidence.
More than half of those surveyed plan to buy for their dad or step-dad., more than a quarter for their husbands. Millennials-- 25 to 34-- will be the biggest spenders, about 188 bucks per person.
Many of those gifts will be outings-- to a concert, sporting event, or dinner to give dad a memorable "experience" on their special day. They'd probably agree that beats a tie or socks any day.
