Library to Host Construction Community Forum

(Toledo, OH) The downtown Toledo library is hosting its first community forum before shutting down this fall.

Library officials received heavy criticism for a decision to close for nearly a year while its main branch receives extensive renovations and technology upgrades.

So the library is now offering the public and its community partners a chance to share input and insight into how the library’s closure could affect them and make suggestions. Library officials have defended shutting down the main library on Labor Day for the $10 million project as a way to reduce construction costs and shorten the project while eliminating public safety concerns.

That forum runs 6 to 8 p.m. in the library’s McMaster Center.
