(Toledo, OH) Toledo City Council is considering a temporary moratorium on so-called Internet cafes.
The ban would be in effect until just after the November election, under a proposal that will get its first look at tomorrow's agenda review meeting.
Officially known as sweepstakes terminal cafes, those operations that offer games of chance may have to apply for a special-use permit in the future, after concern was expressed about a possible Internet cafe locating along Cherry street between St. V's medical center and Central Catholic high school.
That permit also would give neighbors a chance to weigh in on an Internet cafe at a public hearing.
