(Toledo, OH) Four candidates will talk tonight about why they should finish a Toledo city council term.
That district council seat will be the centerpiece of a Meet the Candidates Night being put on by the The Point Place Business Association.
Former Toledo police officer Chris Delaney holds that seat, but three other candidates want to take it from him. Point Place attorney Jim Nowak is a conservative businessman, Alex Rivera is an endorsed Republican, and former city council candidate Mark David Ball, who serves as a substitute teacher at Point Place schools.
The big issue in that race is the proposed new Lucas County jail to be built near a manufactured housing community. The winner in the May 8th primary will serve the rest of the term vacated by Democrat Lindsay Webb when she left to become Lucas County Treasurer.
The candidates forum runs 6 to 8 p.m. at the Friendship Park Community Center.
