(Toledo, OH) The health department is shuffling some of its medical services to a new nonprofit partner.
The Toledo Lucas County Health Department will transfer its primary care family and pediatric clinics to the nonprofit Toledo Lucas County Health Center. The dental clinic and the obstetric clinic will also transfer to a new medical campus sometime this summer-- relocating to the old Riverside Hospital site where Toledo Public Schools houses its administrative offices.
Up to 15 health department workers will be affected by the move, which will save public health officials about $500,000.
The health department wants to focus on major health issues like teen pregnancy, infant mortality, and shots for tots and teens.
