Toledo Being Left Out of Ongoing Water Talks

(Toledo, OH) Eight suburbs will move forward toward a water agreement without Toledo. 

Talks this week centered on how to keep progress going toward a regional water authority, now that Toledo voters will get a say this November in whether or not to join the compact. 

The fall vote puts current efforts on hold for months, and regional leaders don't want to see their momentum stall as a result. The effort now is centered on forging a new deal without Toledo, which owns the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant that would have been sold to the authority. 

Suburban leaders still hope to add Toledo down the road, but right now must determine a new governance structure and possible water source.
