(Toledo, OH) Work will soon begin on a new transit hub in downtown Toledo.
TARTA officials approved plans Thursday to buy the Goodwill Building on North Huron Street for more than $1.5 million.
The location would provide commuters with a climate-controlled waiting room, restrooms and a cafe. The facility is expected to open early next year.
Goodwill bought another downtown building and moved its administrative offices earlier this year. There had been consideration by TARTA leaders to buy the iconic Blade building at one point for a downtown bus hub.
