(Toledo, OH) Lucas County Commissioners say they remain committed to the SeaGate Centre renovations, despite receiving a fraction of the funding they need.
State officials told the county Tuesday they'll foot just $500,000 of the $40 million project. But there's no word yet on where the funding shortfall can be made up.
Lucas County had requested $10 million to update the convention center and add a ballroom in hopes of attracting more trade shows and bigger conventions. The renovations also would add more windows and an entrance closer to Fifth Third Field.
