Abandon The F Grade? Thursday Sixty Minute Poll

The town of Waterbury, CT Board of Education has decided to go no lower on school grading than a 50% “We are looking for transformation in how we go about grading and assessing students,” said Darren Schwartz, Waterbury Public Schools chief academic officer. In reality that means no F grades, there is no possible way for a student to score zero on a paper. Other schools have also considered abandoning the use of F or failing grade insisting it harms the student's self esteem.
