Dorr St. Interchange May Require State Loan

(Toledo, OH) Local leaders find out about funding this week for a new Dorr Street interchange.

The Ohio Infrastructure Bank will meet Thursday to review a proposal for an $8 million  loan Lucas County is seeking to build a new I-475 interchange at Dorr Street and widen the interstate from two to three lanes between Airport Highway and Central Avenue.

ODOT and the Lucas County engineer are partnering on the project, identified as a top priority to ease traffic congestion as the western part of the county continues to grow in population.

Dorr Street would expand to four lanes and each side of the interchange would feature roundabouts. The total cost of the project is $26 million, with construction set to begin next summer.
