Toledo City Council to Vote on Police Contract

(Toledo, OH) Toledo city council will meet in special session today to ratify a new police contract.

The mayor's office and Toledo Police Patrolman's Association hammered out a new three-year contract, calling for raises each year of the collective bargaining agreement. There's a 1.5 percent pay hike this year, 2.5 percent in 2019, and a three percent pay raise in 2020.

The agreement also makes Veteran's Day a paid holiday.  In return, police officers will pay a higher emergency room co-pay and agree to random alcohol testing.

TPPA members overwhelmingly ratified the new contract Monday. Toledo City Council will vote on the agreement at a special meeting at 3 p.m.
