Northwood Launches Adult Recreation Program

(Northwood, OH) Northwood is launching a new adult recreation program.

The former Northwood high school is being converted into what's called the arts, administration, and athletic building, so a community adult recreation program will begin this month on a trial basis.

For a $20, four-month fee, adults will have access to cardio equipment like treadmills, along with an existing weight room. Basketball and pickleball will be offered in the former school gym, while adults and seniors can walk the halls for exercise. A fitness class will be offered every Wednesday night.

The idea is to start small and expand if it's successful. The adult rec program is the result of a community survey sent to Northwood residents by the city parks and rec department.
