(Perrysburg, OH) New products are rolling out of the First Solar plant in Perrysburg.
The solar panel maker launched production Tuesday of its Series Six module, units the company touts as three-times better in performance and efficiency than its older products.
First Solar officials say the factory was retooled for the new product line after changes in the solar power industry forced 400 layoffs last year.
First Solar spent $177 million on the new production line-- but its efficiency won't result in the callback of any of those 400 workers.
