Crews Respond To Chlorine Leak At Bay View Wastewater Treatment Plant

TOLEDO, Ohio - Haz-Mat crews from the Toledo Fire Department responded Monday morning to a chlorine leak at the Bay View Wastewater Treatment Facility.

WTOL 11 reports part of the plant was evacuated due to the leak, which occurred around 8:30 a.m. Toledo Fire and Rescue Haz-Mat crews responded to contain the leak. 

Officials say the leak was contained to the plant and no chlorine escaped into the environment. One employee was taken to the hospital for treatment.
