Ohio Receives 185 Medical Marijuana Applications

(Columbus, OH) There's a lot of interest in growing medical marijuana in Ohio.

State regulators received 185 applications for just two dozen licenses to cultivate medical marijuana in Ohio before last Friday's deadline.

But where those medical pot growers plan to locate still remains unclear. That may not be known until the Ohio Department of Commerce issues a list of the licensees in September.

A dozen licenses will be issued for smaller growers and another dozen for big-time cultivators up to 25,000 square feet.

A number of Ohio communities changed their minds about a medical marijuana moratorium when growers promised to buy land and create jobs.
