(Sandusky, OH) Thrill seekers will begin making their pilgrimages to Cedar Point this weekend.
The Sandusky theme park will open for the season tomorrow with all its scream machines and a new Melt restaurant available to the public.
The 2017 season will feature the launch of the Cedar Point Shores water park later this month and a virtual-reality experience on the Iron Dragon roller coaster beginning in June.
The Sandusky amusement park says its big new draw is an 18-acre waterpark. Four new attractions in the waterpark include Point Plummet, a six-story body slide, Lakeslide Landing, a waterpark for little kids, Portside Plunge, which features an intertube ride, and Lemmy’s Lagoon, a kid’s splashpad and play area based on a mythical Lake Erie monster.
The park’s main roller coaster becomes Top Thrill Cubster this weekend, so a bet can be settled regarding last year’s world series winner. The park opens for daily visitors on May 12.
