Prosecutors Drop Death Penalty Against Abou-Arab

TOLEDO, Ohio - Prosecutors have dropped the possibility for the death penalty in the case against Ray Abou-Arab.

WTOL 11 reports the families of the two firefighters killed in the 2014 fire Abou-Arab is accused of setting gave prosecutors their blessing to drop the death penalty. 

Abou-Arab faces charges of aggravated arson and murder. If convicted, he's expected to be sentenced to life in prison. 

The trial is scheduled to begin April 3, with jury selection starting on Monday.
