(Toledo, OH) The Toledo area Metroparks is adding more grant money to its efforts to increase biking locally.
More than $400,000 worth of state and local grants will help launch three different projects. The state has awarded $150,000 for a recreational trail at the Blue Creek Conservation area. The aim is to build a large loop trail connecting the park to a nearby quarry.
Another $17,000 in state funding will go toward developing a single-track mountain bike trail in Fulton County. Then more than a quarter-million dollars in local grant funding will be used to establish the Toledo Bike Share program, where 100 bikes will be available for rent at 17 bike share stations.
