Heritage Ohio To Hold Toledo Workshop On Historic Tax Credits

TOLEDO, Ohio - Applying for and using the State Historic Tax Credit will be the focus of a workshop to be held in Toledo next week.

Heritage Ohio will present a workshop, entitled "Dollars and Sense of Building Rehabilitation" next Tuesday, January 31 and will take place at the Toledo Club.

Toledo City Council Member Sandy Spang coordinated with Heritage Ohio to bring the workshop to Toledo. She says that the city of Toledo hasn't taken advantage of available programs to help develop and preserve older buildings in the city.

"We've done some really amazing big projects. Hensville was a tax credit project. The Steam Plant is a tax credit project. But you look at Cleveland, they've done 67 projects in that first ten years," Spang told WSPD's Scott Sands.

Those interested in attending can visit heritageohio.org to register.
