(Toledo, OH) Toledo City Council is considering a proposal to rename the former Southwyck Mall area and offer tax breaks for home remodeling and new construction in that section of South Toledo.

Councilman Rob Ludeman is among those who already like the idea of renaming it Hawthorne Hills to spur development.

Legislation from the mayor's office would create the city's tenth community reinvestment area near the former mall property Toledo purchased for just over $3 million in 2014. A vote is expected next week.
