CLEVELAND, Ohio - An Ohio Congressman is the first Republican to officially announce he's running for governor.
Making the announcement Monday with a YouTube video, Congressman Jim Renacci declared that he wants to be Ohio's next governor.
Renacci was a strong supporter of Donald Trump last year. He has owned nursing homes, and has other business interests. He represents Ohio's 16th District, being first elected in 2010. He's also served as mayor of Wadsworth from 2004-2008.
Ohio Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor, Attorney General Mike Dewine and Secretary of State Jon Husted have not yet made their campaigns official.
